Path of Exile

Path of Exile is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online ARPG in the style of Diablo that offers amazing flexibility, both in character progression and game modes. The action is brutal and bloody, and the harsh world of Wraeclast takes no prisoners. Fortunately, exiles are hardy sorts, with a number of equally brutal abilities at their disposal to help them survive and thrive in the wild.

There are several character classes in Path of Exile, revolving around three primary attributes – strength, dexterity, and intelligence – or using a mix of two or all three, such as the duelist, a melee class that relies on strength and dexterity. Characters advance through Path of Exiles enormous skill tree, which allows players to select new passive and active abilities as they level up. Gear is similarly flexible, with high-end equipment having slots that can equip gems that provide various bonus effects. In total, there are countless ways to build and equip characters, so that no two will ever be the same.

Path of Exile has a traditional MMO experience, where players can progress through various zones, level up, and gain gear, but there are several other ways to play as well. The most popular is races, where players start with brand new characters and compete to acquire the most experience or achieve other goals over a set period of time, which can range anywhere from a few minutes to a month. Each race season features a number of events, usually numbering over a hundred, and sometimes include race modifiers to make things more challenging.

Finally, Path of Exile has a true commitment to free-to-play, with a relatively small cash shop and no items that grant advantage. It’s become a favorite of many hardcore gamers for its diverse option and challenging content, but it can be enjoyed by a wide range of players of all skill levels.
